Sugar Cookie Fries

Whether you’re looking for the cutest birthday party treat or are simply looking for an adorable activity that the kids can get involved in, these sugar cookie fries are the answer.

Ingreadient:

  • 1 c. (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c. (200 g.) granulated sugar, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 3 c. (360 g.) all-purpose flour, plus more for surface
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • Buttercream frosting dyed red with food coloring, Funfetti frosting, strawberry jam, and Nutella, for serving

Direction

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment. In the large bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add your egg and beat to blend. Beat in vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and salt and beat on low speed until just combined.
  2. Divide dough into 2 balls and flatten into discs. Refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a large, thin rectangle around 1/4" thick. With a short end facing you, using a pizza cutter (or sharp knife), cut dough crosswise into 1/2" wide strips. Cut strips in half lengthwise, between 3 1/2" and 4" long; trim edges to create straight sides. Sprinkle with sugar and transfer dough to prepared sheets. Refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour.
  4. Bake cookie fries until starting to turn golden around the edges, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. Arrange cookie fries on a platter. Serve with desired dipping sauces alongside.
